Hello,
I am using PeaceMaker in my undergrad and grad classes at Tel Aviv University as a tool for teaching political communication and conflict resolution.
In brief, PeaceMaker is used to teach various theoretical aspects of communication (e.g., Agenda Setting, Framing, Social Construction of Reality), Political Science (e.g., Game Theory) and psychology (e.g., Identity Theory, Contact Hypothesis). The idea is to develop a more complex and differential perspective of the situation in our region by letting the students analyze the game while interacting with the situation from within and by conducting joint lessons with different academic institutes in order to learn how students living on different sides of the political, ethnic, religious and cultural divides in Israel and in the Middle East think about the situation.
If you are using PeaceMaker in your class, maybe we can start a discussion about the various options to use the game in our classes so we can learn from each other's experience. We can share ideas, contents and maybe even form collaboration with our students.
What do you think?
Have a nice day,
Ronit
